Goodwood Firelogs by Summit Views Now Available
in the Northeast, Meet Demand for Heating Alternatives
NEW YORK & NEWARK, N.J.-The U.S. Dept.
of Energy recently announced that heating oil will cost Americans
37% more this winter, which will hit home for millions in the Northeast
during the upcoming cold months. Inflated heating oil costs, fueled
by the rising cost of crude oil, together with a firewood shortage,
have left many seeking alternative heating options.
Those looking for firewood to heat their homes
may run into another roadblock-firewood shortages. The recent reopening
of paper mills in the Northeast has rapidly increased demand for
wood but with a shortage of loggers to aid with supply, the resulting
deficit has firewood supplies scarce and where it is available prices
are at a premium. These factors leave those wanting to avoid a marked
increase in their home heating costs with fewer alternatives.
Summit Views LLC, the makers of Goodwood® firelogs,
have announced that their 100% natural, cleaner burning renewable
resource products are now distributed in the Northeast by Haddon
House Food Products, Inc. and sold at Wegman's Supermarkets, giving
consumers a convenient, cost effective, and cleaner burning alternative
to using scarce firewood to help offset high heating oil prices.
For those concerned with pollution from particulates
(soot), they can enjoy a blazing fire at home guilt free. "Goodwood
firelogs are made from pure, clean wood chips, are densified or
compressed and bound only by what occurs naturally in the wood,"
said Gregg Weissman, co-founder of Summit Views. "Their density
and low moisture content makes them burn hotter and cleaner, with
less smoke and ash, than firewood, without the use of petroleum
or chemical binders. Most other manufactured firelogs and easy-lighting
products consist of up to 60% low-grade petroleum by-products, or
they may contain recycled plastic or cardboard, which air quality
agencies do not want people to burn. Consumers should know exactly
what they're burning inside their homes."
